Raised Beach -3 - Abermawr
Raised Beach -3 - Abermawr

The storms of 2014 have exposed a row of pebbles on top of a cliiff at the back of Abermawr Beach. Possibly another example of a Raised Beach .
--------------------
About 130,000 to 125,000 years ago - the Ipswichian Interglacial Period - rising sea levels
caused by melting of Ice sheets created new wave cut platforms with beach deposits.
These deposits are now 10m or so above the current lower sea levels.
