Sea Squirt - "Botrylloides Leachi"

A colonial ascidian (sea squirt) ,forming compact sheets , occurring on seaweeds on
he lower shore , in shallow water and on rock surfaces exposed to water movement.
The zooids are arranged in meandering lines which lead to a few common exhalant openings.
Common colour forms are bright orange, pink or bright yellow, but patterned forms also occur.
It can be distinguished from the Star Ascidian which has a star like arrangement while
with Botrylloides leachi the individuals tend to be in parallel chains.
