"Euspira Catena" , A rather beautiful but deadly predator.
The Necklace Shell, is the only sand - burrowing Snail.
Once it finds a mollusc, it captures it with its muscular foot and grates a hole in the shell
of the prey , using the radula as a mechanical rasp , assisted by acidic secretions ,
and then sucks out the flesh.
The Centre Shell shows the ear-shaped Operculum.
