Holm in the names of Skokholm , Grassholm , Gateholm Islands indicates a link with the Vikings ( Norse ) , as does Caldey , Ramsey and Skomer Islands .
St Margaret's Island near Caldey is of more recent derivation - 14th century .
As well as these 7 large Islands , there are smaller Islands and numerous Islets and Rocky outcrops near to the shore.
Some Islands - St Catherine's , Sheep , Rat , Gateholm are only Islands at high tide . Dinas Island is unique in being high and dry at all times !.
