4.10 - CEMAES HEAD - ST DOGMAELS
A distance of about 3 miles.

From Cemaes Head / most of the headland is a nature reserve .
Good views of Cardigan Island - a WTSWW Reserve - access by permit only .
The path passes through Allt-y-Goed Farm - Campsite . Car Parking here .
The path follows a lane , about 1.5 miles , which after passing the Youth Hostel leads to the lifeboat station .
As an alternative :- Just before the YH is reached - a FP Sign ( not as on OS maps ), indicates a path down the cliff / passing Penrhyn Castle , to Cei-bach / the most westerly reach of poppit sands / at low tide the beach can be walked to Poppit Sands.
At Poppit Sands Car park the offical sign to the start / finish of the "Pembokeshire Coast Path" can be found .
Poppit Sands is an enormous beach in the Teifi Estuary / sand dunes ( with Bee Orchids ) / mud flats and beaches follow the river into the town.
The Teifi estuary is an excellent area for observing Wading Birds .
A little further on and , near the landing stage / picnic site -
THE START / FINISH POINT OF THE "PEMBROKESHIRE COAST PATH" IS IN FACT REACHED !!!
The town of St Dogmaels and the abbey ruins are a short distance away .
The Church holds the 6th century "Sagranus Stone".
Nearby :- " Pentre Ifan " one of the most famous Neolithic Tombs in the country.
Castle Henylls a reconstructed Iron Age Fort .
Welsh Wildlife Centre / Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve - Cilgerran .
Car Park - Cemaes Head ( Allt-y-Goed Campsite ), Poppit Sands , St Dogmaels .
Bus " Poppit Rocket " - Poppit Sands , St Dogmaels ( Moorings or Car park ) , Cardigan ( Finch Square ).
