4-GALLERIES-NORTH COAST

4 - WHITESANDS - ST DOGMAELS

The Path in this area passes through an increasingly rugged coast , as it moves to its highest point - 575ft- on Cemaes Head.

There are lots of long lonely stretches / most buildings are inland / out of reach of the winter gales / with plenty of steep climbs .

Although the heights attained are not great , the sheer cliffs which plunge straight into the sea make the views impressive.

The toughest section is the last , or the first if travelling - north to south , between Newport - St Dogmaels.

Beaches :- Whitesands , Newport Sands , Poppit Sands.

COAST GEOLOGY :-
