Near Little Haven the geology changes to 'Coal Measures' , 300 million years old , heavily folded with sandstone and shales , and thin anthracite coal seams .
Little Haven , has the character of a Cornish coastal village , a popular tourist spot .
An attractive little harbour . A port in 1850 , for exporting coal from local pits .
Little Haven to Broad Haven can be walked , at low tide , along the Beach , and is better route than along a narrow busy road .
Broad Haven has a good beach , bathing / surfing , popular since the 1800`s . Passing the north end of the beach , and the named rocky outcrops , the coastline is subject to areas of dramatic erosion .
A short road walk , passed Druidstone Hotel , leads to an extensive beach ( Druidston Haven ). The Druidston name was derived from a norman Knight - Drue .
Druidston Haven has a fine beach , popular for swimming and surfing / Sea Caves / rock pools / edible seaweed / rock platforms.
Fossils , "Tuning Fork "Graptolities , mainly Diplograptids have been found in the shale fragments below the shale cliffs.
Passing ' Teletubby House ' the path continues to Nolton Haven , a former coal exporting port , with an Inn and pleasant beach .
Further on passing the crumbling Rickets Head / a dramatic coastal landmark / and the brick chimney of the former Trefane Colliery , to the superb Newgale Sands / over 2 miles long with a storm bank of pebbles and shingle .
