Leave Sandy Haven Pill as the stepping stones are exposed at low tide , and there should be plenty of time to pass through The Gann , within the possible 5hrs available .
The Sandy Haven crossing point is passable for about 2.5 hrs either side of low tides , the diversion is about 3 miles long .
And The Gann is passable for 3.5 hrs either side of low tides , the diversion is about 2 miles long .
Or park at St Ishmaels , church or village , to leisurely explore between the two.
From Sandy Haven , about 50 yds up the lane passed the Coast path sign is a Lime Kiln and Lime Burners Hut /and a small weighbridge.
The Coast path follows the west bank of the Haven , passing Little Castle Head - Iron Age Fort / Butts Bay with a Transit Marker to assist shipping navigate Milford Estuary / Great Castle Head - Iron Age Fort - Radar for milford waterway - Beacon with a fixed light and a range light / Beach at Lindsway Bay - steep path to beach / Watch Tower Point with the decaying remains of a First World War artillery battery nearby / Victorian Watch Tower (an estate feature - 1860) / Monk Haven - with a gigantic wall ( 18C ) , built for the Trewarren Estate .
Past Musselwick Point / follow the path along the Gann Estuary / then across the Gann stepping stones / across shingle ridge - which separates saltwater lagoons (SSSI) and marshes , from the estuary / important site for over wintering birds / to the Car Park at Dale - Pickleridge .
Car Park - Sandy Haven , St Ishmaels , Dale - Pickleridge.
Bus -" Puffin Shuttle" , Herbrandston ( school ) - nr sandy haven , Dale , bus continues to St Davids .
