Route passes :-
Thorn Island with 1 of 4 Napoleonic Forts ( Palmerston Follies ) on this section / occupying nearly all of the island , built 1852/9.
Glimpses of Chapel Bay Fort (No2) , due to be opened as a museum . And offshore in the Haven - Stack Rocks Fort (No.3) / Angle Lifeboat Station / Ruins of old lifeboat station at Angle Point.
Old Point Public House . Then Angle Village - with its creek and small boats / remains of a 14C fortified Manor House (Tower House) . Rhoscrowther Oil Refinery dominates the area !!. A spectacular sight at night
The long shoreline of Angle Bay (2 Miles) has extensive birdlife on the mudflats , waders , curlew , heron , oystercatchers ------- .
View of Fort Popton(No.4) from Sawdern Point , Fort can be approached by taking a road away from coastal path . Path then passes through woodland and crosses Bullwell Bay - pebble beach (oil jetty in view !) / Pwllcrochan Flats (Path to Mud Flats) / Pwllcrochan Church ( with a Wetland Nature Reserve nearby).
Path moves away from the coast , near former power station , (a new power station - 2,000mw gas fired station is under construction - completion 2012) , missing the west side of Pennar Mouth , where the Pembroke River joins the estuary . Past Lime Kiln near Goldborough Pill . Past Quoits Mill , follow road to Pembroke Castle.
Near Pennar , follow Roads through Pembroke Dock.
Views :- via local roads , Pennar Park , Fort Road (martello tower ) . Hobbs Point .
Estuary crossed by the Cleddau Toll Bridge , to Neyland .
