6.2 - Coastal scenes - to the EAST of AMROTH

From Amroth to Loughor Estuary.
And
The Gower Penninsula .

Carmarthen Bay Coast Path :- ( under development ) ,
Amroth to Loughor Bridge ( nr Llanelli ) . About 55 miles.
Amroth to Pendine can be easily walked , a guide book ( Carmarthenshire Coastal Trail - Mike Salter ) - may be required to find the best available route , at present , from Pendine.
The coast between Pendine and Ginst Point ( Laugharne Sands ) - 7 miles , is a weapons testing range operated by Qinetiq.
Access by the public to Pendine beach is permitted on days when the range is not in use which is often the case on Saturdays and Sundays. It is possible to find out if access is allowed by phoning Qinetiq Security Service (01944 452310) .

The Millennium Coast Path - along the northern shore of the Loughor Estuary - Pembrey to Loughor Estuary - passes through wildlife habitats and leisure facilities / with The National Wetland Centre at Pebnclacwydd on the Burry Inlet .

The Gower Coast Path :- ( under development ).
The first completed section has now been officially opened (Sept / 2010 ) a 16-mile section between Llanmadoc and Port Eynon.
The final Gower Coast Path will stretch for almost 40 miles from Crofty in the north via Llanmadoc , Rhossili , Port Eynon , Three Cliffs Bay, to the Mumbles in the South .

The Wales Coast Path :-
The Welsh Assembly Government is hoping to to create a continuous 850 mile path that runs right around the coastline of Wales by Summer 2012.
