Dale Fort / Dale Point

Dale Fort / built between 1850 and 1856 / one of the last forts built in Great Britain to counter wooden-walled , sail-driven warships / by 1871 it was considered obsolete.
Armed with 7 Guns - en barbette (that is firing over the top of the parapet ) / Barracks for 260 personnel .
