As at Amroth , the remains of a " drowned forest" , submerged about 6,000yrs ago , may been seen , at low tides / low sand levels .
A number of other beaches around the coast show this feature - under optimum conditions -Amroth , Abermawr , Freshwater West , Newgale , Whitesands .
